Blue Tooth Controls on Steering Wheel

This was first posted in the Tech Forum but now I see it would be better to have it here. Thanks in advance for your advice or suggestions.

I just bought a 2011 Taco that has the low end radio. (No Blue tooth.) There are controls on the left side of the steering wheel that control the volume, mode etc., of the radio but on the right side, where the on/off hook are for the phone, there is a piece of plastic to fill up the hole.

I wonder if their is a wiring harness and plug pre-wired that would allow me to plug in a bank of switches to control the bluetooth connection?

I plan to install an aftermarket audio system and it has an interface that will allow me to use all the steering wheel controls. Since the new system will have bluetooth, I would like to have controls on the steering wheel.

Any suggestions?

Some 4Runners have the right side controls for bluetooth, and I've seen a thread where a guy was able to get it to work in a tacoma. I don't think he had to drop any wires down the steering column. I'm pretty sure the right side control plug "piggybacked" off the plug for the left side somehow. It wasn't exactly "plug and play", but it didn't look terribly complicated.

It's something I've wanted to do for a while now, as well. If I recall correctly, the right side control part was about $90-100.

I feel for ya... I'm in a worse boat. Don't know what I'm doing wrong either... Been setting my CC at 60 on the freeway when I can, as soon as I see a light change I take my foot off the gas and coast as long as I can and brake as little as I can, I feel like a grandpa driving but I'm still getting... well you can see it below.

On the upside, a recent trip to the beach, about 250 miles round trip, netting me over 20 mpg. I guess I need to vacation more in the truck.
