Morning - I’m missing my driver’s side wheel well pocket. Has anyone made a replacement one of these before and have some tips? Having a hard time finding info on that. Buying “new” is $100+ and is just not worth it to me. I’m seemingly in the minority on actually finding those pockets to be quite useful. Thank you!

Are you talking about the material that shields mud from flinging up into the engine bay and inside of the body panel?

I used conveyor belt and zip ties to make that and to make mud flaps.

I've yet to see a cheaper option than OEM - or any option at all other than just putting damn duct tape over the hole :( Like you, the thought of spending $100+ on this thing which I never used anyway is not a great one. With how easy these things break I'm pretty surprised that someone smarter than myself hasn't come up with a cool mod or idea that uses this space better than the stock piece.

Subscribing in case someone knows something I don't...

Funny you say that clenkeit, I’ve had duct tape over the bed hole for ~3 years now.

I’ve seen a number of mods for that area, whether it’s lights or speakers, but I honestly just want that pocket back. I camp in the back and that pocket is a perfect “night stand” for phone, watch, etc.

I broke the clips off years ago trying to remove it. Double sided 3M tape and mines been holding strong. Maybe find someone parting out a truck?

It would seem to me that a junkyard would be the best source for the part. Half of all rear end crashes (the most common accident) result in no damage to one vehicle's rear. So the well pocket should be easy to find

Good recommendations. I’ve tried a few yards and they tend to want to keep the bed intact and are unwilling to sell the pocket. Maybe I’ll just have to keep trying that avenue.
