Does my 05” taco have drl?

I bought some alpha rex headlights for my 05 Tacoma base. It came with a drl conversion kit but it said it may not be necessary. My current headlights have three modes: 1: headlight+ side light off (not sure if that’s what it is, it’s some light on the side but not the turn signal) 2: side light on 3: headlight + side light on
So do I need to install that drl converter or can I just plug and play?

 

My 11 required a jumper in the fuse box. I have those headlights and simply threaded the wire through the firewall and tucked it into the kick panel, up to the fuse box. They’re bright AF!

 

To answer your question, no your 2005 does not have DRL. Easiest way to check on a second gen is to look at how many wires are going to the turn signal bulb.

Two wires = No DRL
Three wires = DRL
