Ticking noise

Hey I just bought a tacoma with about 37,000 miles on it i swear i am hearing a little ticking noise and I wanted to post on here to see what the issue might me

I remember when I first got mine, I had a ticking/metallic jingling sound that would come and go that drove me fking nuts until I figured out it was the frigging chain for the spare tire winch.

Secured it with a zip tie and haven’t heard it since.

 

The fuel injector cleaning cycle will make a ticking noise. Does the ticking sound appear like it is coming from the engine bay?

 

Lots of info here if you are not familiar with these Trucks.

Thats the normal sound of the injectors. All is well!

 

I call it the Toyota Tick...you'll get used to it...as stated it's the injectors and completely normal.

 

The 2GR tick….I have 2 2GRs in my garage, one in the truck, one in my Lexus. They sound identical when running with the hood open. Only difference is with the hood closed, sound in the Lexus is there but barely audible unless you are listening for it because of the extra sound deadening and a lot more of the engine enclosed.

Anyway, as others have said, it’s what they do.

Sounds just like mine

 

Some trucks are louder than others, but it's normal for this engine....till it self destructs.
