Depends what you are trying to accomplish. Depends on budget. Depends on your current setup. Depends on lots of things. Depends if you prefer foxes or emus. :notsure:

"Better" is subjective without more details on your end. Cheers.

The Fox network for rebuilds etc. is huge. No idea how the OME network is. I run Bilstein 6112s because I didn't see the need or use for race series vs. their cost, but Shock Surplus has some great videos breaking down all the different options for our trucks. Here is one on all the shocks for Tacomas....

I had kings on my 4runner but am now looking for something that is maintenance free. I'm either getting bilsteins or dobinsons this time.

Lots of people buy "race shocks" but don't realize that they should be rebuilt every 30-60K miles

    I saw it
    I even contact them
They suggested these for my needs

I do overlanding 1 or 2 times per month
Planning to add more weight with a bumper and skid plats
Also I want to adjust them when off roading or daily driving

What you said about network of rebuild does concern me
Not a fan taking parts off and sending them off
Would prefer driving in a shop to get them service

Yeah, I had kings on my 2000 ranger and they were due for a rebuild at like 20k miles. I was always in the desert beating on them, so I'm not playing that game anymore either.

There are a few shops I have heard of who will do same day rebuilds. If you're in Southern California there is https://www.dcshockservices.com/service out of San Dimas (I see them in their service van all the time). I got frustrated with serviceable shocks and went for once and done for 50 or 60k....

Kurt at DC Shocks has been doing shocks for me for years.

Both solid choices imo. Go with whatever fits your budget.

I love that T100. Is that a total chaos set up? Or are you on something way different like an old Duffco (another San Dimas Guy) set up?

    You sir know your Toyotas!

Yes, it’s OG Toyota Duffco arms on a custom fab lower brace (T100’s a wider frame than the older Toyotas).

Kurt actually put the front end together for me in his garage when he was still working at KarTek.

The rest of the truck was built by myself and Solo Motorsports. Specifically, They did all rear work and a smog legal 4.7 V8 swap.

I grew up in San Dimas and owned this truck for 20 years.

Waiting for update response on what brands of shocks they rebuild and if the do same day rebuild if I bring my truck in

Good old Duffco, I knew TC and Duffco were about it for T100's. Duffco Dan has been out of the suspension and the scene for at least 15 years now? Kartek is another place I haven't been to in years...after everything became available online...I didn't have a reason to just wander Kartek when bored.

The truck looks like it would be a beast for sure!

Duffco Dan! Paul Duffy, of the original Duffco went on to join Booby at Solo. The guys there were like magic.

It was a beast. Sadly, I sold this in 2021 after a long run fighting cancer. When the dust settled I bought a new Raptor, and since sold it for the Tacoma. T100 soaked WAY more than I gave it credit for.

I’m actively searching for Tundra now to build another full prerunner though.
    Will still keep the Tacoma
