What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Am I supposed to look at my axles that early? Just did my 4Runner's (well not me, I don't have the tools) at 240k. Really just trying to understand what to take care of and what to watch out for.

 

I had trouble with the third crossbar (third from the front of the cab, second from the back of the cab) touching the roof. How is your sitting? I end up just removing mine.

 

I wish it was my garage… this was at my work place, a fire station.

Not at all! With CV axles it’s pretty much drive them until there’s a problem.
Splattered grease is a sign or knocking while turning.
I had a ripped boot.Could’ve fixed the boot only, could’ve only replaced that axle.
But I look for any excuse to wrench and decent axles aren’t too expensive.

 

No issue with mine at all. All bars have easily more than an inch of clearance.

 

Yup. SDHQ has 5 total.



KnuKonceptz has 4 with the battery lead but they are 0 / 4 / 8 gauge via set screw ports.

Anytime front camera mount, work in progress. I have an Off-Road egg crate grill. The camera needs to come out so I can see
the front plate and what is in front. 3003 0.040 is handy; the maple board with aluminum angle is my simple bender.

 

Hit it with some Meguiar's Quick Detail and tire shine. I'm going on a mini road trip Sunday to pick up a LEER camper shell for it

 

Thanks for posting your Midnight Black with Bronze wheels! I'm still debating whether I'm gonna splurge on new wheels after my TRD Lift...it's further down the road so I still have time to think.

No problem! I appreciate it. I wanted something other than silver and I don’t like all black, so bronze was the happy medium for me. It’s not too flashy, but it looks clean IMO. Whenever it’s time for new tires I plan to lift it and go up in size as well.

 

Picked her up! First big boy purchase. Got rid of my little hatchback Impreza. Had been looking for a few days for a TRD OR and found this 2017 manual TRD Pro. Love it so far and it will be a beast to live in for the summers. Spent the last and will spend every future (I hope?) summer in MT/ID/WY.
Only mod so far is the same dancing bear that has gone on every vehicle of mine. This time one that matches the badging perfectly!

 

Got the OTT tune from @MasterYota earlier this week and the difference is night and day. The truck's performance is greatly improved and the shifting issues are now resolved. Can't recommend the tune and the Tuner enough. (Generic truck pic because this thread needs more pics):
