285/75r16 vs 255/85r16?

So, I have my lift, my CMC & 4.88 gears. Looking at going with new tires to fill the gap and I have it narrowed down to either:

285/75 @ 50lbs or 255/85 @ 61lbs

Height wise, pretty much the same. The biggest difference will be the 285 width vs the 255 weight. Is this pretty much a draw on which may have better on road performance, or would one be better than the other? Thank you in advance

 

really like my 285s, Handles great, good mpg, looks good, I see no downsides other than random people telling you your truck looks awesome.

 

What brand are you running?

 

I've got the 285 70 17 Ko2s C load, picked them up new from a Jeep guy who went 37s right off the lot. Paid $950 (CDN) for 5 of them
What ones are you looking at for 285 75 16 ? Nitto, Toyo?

The weight is good for an E load 285, they get good reviews for snow and ice

 

The other choice is 255/85r16 Toyo MT.

 

Pretty much different tires haha, the Toyo is a tough MT, looks awesome.
You’d like the Yokohama MT G003 also.
