I am definitely not the one to ask, as this is the first time painting a bike.

I went with Rustoleum paint. After a post here, I will get a satin 2K clear instead of what I bought.

Turns out Cricut gold vinyl is incredibly close to the groms wheel’s gold. This took me so long to do but is going to be so worth it.

Damn. That’s classy. I really should familiarize myself with the cricut. My partner bought one a while back and uses it all the time. Made this on it:

New project, hauled this gem home last night for MSRP. No Markup, no waitlist, just happened to be the right time and at the right dealer.

Definitely some finesse with it, but overall it's real easy to use.

Scanned the OEM Honda decals I bought arranged all on 1 scan bed for scaling purposes, imported that scan into the cricut software and used their tools to remove the background and leave just the cut shape (should have spend longer on this step, TBH, and smoothed out some of the lines.) The glossiness of the decals made it real hard for the software to determine what was what, it didn't see the colors as the same across the logos. Once I had it cleaned up put it on a workspace and did some measuring and scaled it out, then sent it to the cutter. Weeded the whole sheet, threw transfer tape over, cut into individual decals, then applied!

About to start taking off panels are replacing. Looks like each side is only the three large bolt/washer things and 3 push pin body clips.

If you can find brass/gold washers for the body panels, that would set the whole look off.

Nice. I haven’t found a Tenere in stock, much less advertised at MSRP.

The Tuareg ride today was quite nice. The bike feels far more agile and lightweight than the specifications say it should. Suspension handles everything on road and the limited off-road I was willing to on a test ride. Low speed handling is very easy in tight turns, probably because of how well balance the bike feels. The stock windscreen is fairly small but did a good job of directing the airflow smoothly upwards. It still seemed to hit around the helmet but it was clean and didn’t buffet or create a lot of noise. Engine could use a bit more low end grunt for off-road maybe but has plenty up in the revs for on road riding. I have a 32” inseam and can easily balance on the ball if both feet comfortably. I always come to a stop with my right foot on the brake and left foot in the ground and it’s a comfortable flat foot with a tiny bit of lean. Passenger peg mounts stick out way to far and I kept hitting them with my heels. They are a bolt on piece and I’d remove them right away.

If the dealer would’ve given a better trade offer on my 250 Rally I’d probably have ridden it home. As it stands if I sell the Rally I will go back and buy the Tuareg.

Time for new tires on my HD 48. Thinking about doing my shocks & forks while I’m at it. Looking at Progressive kits. I was surprised to see how much prices have jumped! About $650 OTD for front & back.
    anyone have experience with Progressive?

Went to a dealer in So-Cal while on vacation and got to sit on this Africa Twin, felt good, I like it, didn’t really care for the color scheme or the fact that it’s a DCT, but now I’m even more torn between the Vstrom 1050 and AT.

I used to live up there but not anymore, I’m down in Ms most of the time unless I’m traveling and then I’m either in Cali, NC, or Va.
    I appreciate the offer though.

I would love to find a manual AT with the red/white/blue color scheme.

All done for the day, I don’t hate the silver washers on it.

Looking great! I actually like the contrast with the silver washers. Was the Honda marketing about it being easy to swap out the plastics spot on?
