Fog Lights are for...

Fog or for crappy weather and situations when you can't see sh*t. They are not meant to be daytime running lights or a supplement to your LED headlights in perfect conditions to blind the crap out of other drivers while you’re in the suburbs or at the mall. Just sayin...

 

I have a mustang with fogs, and let me tell you, I keep them on 24/7 and I attract all kinds of women.

I generally only click them on at dusk/dawn for a little better ditch lighting for critters, or when I want to be more visible to other drivers. Everybody seems to drive around with them on all the time though. I used to as well, but then I found out how annoying they are to oncoming traffic and I stopped.

at this point, I might as well just drive with my high beams on,,,, everyone else does, no need to wear out that stalk switch.

 

If you're blinding people with your fogs, you need to do some serious adjusting. I run mine when it's raining, especially at night. Even in the day with rain it helps others see me. In three years I've never had a oncoming driver blink at me.

 

How are they annoying? I see people with fogs on all the time, only reason they annoy me is if they are aftermarket and awful, same as the fake hid headlights. Otherwise standard fogs don’t bother me.

 

What is it these days with Fog Lights complaints/lack of usage? lol

Don't look directly into the light.

 

Tacoma fog lights are the least of your worries.

 

I'm a bit light sensitive, so I get where the OP is coming from. It's physically painful when the fogs are super bright, aren't properly aimed, or somebody has just stuck random LEDs in a halogen housing. OP is just asking for a bit of courtesy for those that it might actually affect. If it doesn't affect you that is fantastic, but please don't assume that's the case for every other driver on the road.

 

I'll run my fogs with shitty Amazon LED bulbs anytime I'd like thank you!

 

Im going to hardwire my fogs to my battery so they never turn off.
