2016 Gen 3 xtend cab RWD Sport 150k miles. Bought recently with 19 MPG in History. I saw a decline in local but better at 70+. I removed the ARE Cap and added Thule rack to the bed. Now I see 15.2, 17 long 70+ hiway. Any ideas?

Your driving habits must be more aggressive than the previous owner.

    Why count mpgs anyways?

Wind resistance change probably. Also pay no attention to the computer, do it by fill up/mileage with a calculator and see what you get.

Taking the cap off helps with weight, but decreases aerodynamics (don't know by how much, probably not too significant). Depending on the rack, it might be adding a lot of weight/drag. I don't really have any suggestions on how to fix that unfortunately. Hopefully someone else can chime in

Your commute and other driving habits are not identical to those of the previous owner. Different roads, different speeds, different distances.

    Science says to "fuggeddaboudit."

Put these thoughts out of your head and carry on with truck enjoyership.
