Like the title states, the vinyl on my door trims have water drip stains. Looking to see if anyone knows how to possibly remove them. Looking at using vinyl dye as a last result and just repaint them black if nothing else.

I've scrubbed them with a microfiber cloth using warm water/soap as well as used chemical guys nonsense cleaner with some brushes and no luck.

They don't seem bad but they won't budge and keep reappearing. Appreciate any input.

I have no idea how I ended up here, but I’m definitely not a detailed/detailing savvy guy.

That said, I’ve had really good luck using Tuff Stuff Multi Purpose Foam Cleaner for stubborn stuff like this. No idea if that’s stronger/better than what you’ve tried.

Since you say it is stains from water dripping try some white vinegar on a rag as it could be the minerals in the water

Thanks, I'm not even sure wtf was in that water. I went out and tried this since I had some white distilled vinegar. Gave the two front doors a couple good scrubs with a microfiber cloth and it just about looks the same. May just have to re-dye them.

I've had similar stains but not as bad. Looks like hard water stains. I used some mother's back to black and armor all and it seemed to work pretty well:thumbsup: I'd try the vinegar route a couple more times for the hard water stain and then the moisturizing/armor all route after if I were you, good luck!

Thanks guys.. ordered some of the detailing products to try. I'll give it a few more scrubs as well and see how it turns out.

Steam will get it out, you would have to buy or borrow a steam cleaner, but it will take out those stains and leave it looking clean and new. I have a Karcher SC3 and it works great for cleaning auto interiors and other things around the house.

That steamer will also do the job. You can also detail your engine bay with it as well. If it’s really dusty I would recommend pressure rinsing it off first then I following it up with the steamer and some all purpose microfibers. It will leave it looking as good as the day you bought it.
