Like other people have said, it’s ultimately up to how much you want the truck. Although I would say that I bought my 3rd Gen brand new from the dealership for $32K to put that guy’s asking price into perspective.

I personally would never consider paying $23K for a truck that old but that’s just me and I’m not you.

I'd never pay $23K for it either. No way. The $32K price tag brand new is helpful, though. Thanks.

Thank you for your perspective. At the very least, I'm going to go check it out and see for myself.

No problem John, and agreed doesn't hurt to check it out you can always walk away. Make sure to crawl underneath and inspect the frame. Good luck!

Great photo, I had an 03 with a 4 banger. Bullet proof. How's the frame, Hawaiian soil can be rough and there is salt air/water exposure? $15k?! I say go for it!

I'll find out on Friday. Looks pretty good from what I can tell / what I've been told by the owner thus far.

That is a 1st gen Tacoma.

Another way to look at 'worth' is what a CU will loan on it or your insurance will pay out as a total. Actually a bit more than those numbers, but not much more.

    Talk to both.

UPDATE: The owner wouldn't budge off of $21K so I passed on it.

I often tell people to get a 4x4 Toyota, even if they don't need it. The resale is SOOOO much better on them

People can ask whatever they want. In my area (Midwest) you see all kinds of crazy prices. They might sit for a long time but they sell. Somebody somewhere wants it. It doesn't matter what others who don't own it think about the price. I don't understand on some of these public forums why some think their .02 makes a difference. Just want some attention or think they can bully the seller into lowering the price. Real idiotic behavior if you ask me.

Market price is determined as the intersection of what a buyer is willing to pay, and the seller willing to accept.

You sound possibly willing to pay $23k which means it's at or near market price.
