I just recently learned I can't use my e brake if I am parked facing up on a hill if it gets below freezing. It locks up. Dealer says I have to back in my driveway. Design issue? How annoying. Anyone else? Remedies? 2016 ord model.

Lol. You can still use it. It may freeze if it's wet and then it goes below freezing.

If if does stick you can rock your truck and/or 4Lo to break it loose.

I don't know where you but I can almost guarantee that it's colder where I am and this is barely an issue. Happens sometimes but no frequently.

I guess it would depend on how big of hill you are on. Maybe more angle doesn't let the drums drain correctly.

But as long as you drive for a bit after getting a car wash or getting the brakes wet, the drums shouldn't freeze.
I use my e brake every day, I have a manual truck, and have never had it freeze.
I get car washes at least once a week in the winter, unless they close the washes which is usually around 5f degrees.

I've got the same truck! Moved last summer to a hill location and have had this happen twice in the last couple weeks. First time was after washing it--had to drive my wife's car to work. Next time was this morning. We had some snow yesterday which melted off and then a freeze last night. After warming it up for 15 min, it wouldn't move in reverse. Eased it forward then back and forth a few feet working the E brake in between until it let go. First time was nose up; this time nose down. Might just have to drive it more when it's wet or avoid hills!
