I just got my 2.5 facelift parts painted by a local shop that has an excellent reputation. I had never used them before but have seen some of their work and it was really good. I was a bit skeptical since the price was much cheaper than everywhere else but the guy was really cool so I decided to go with them. They did a decent job on the grille and bumper but the hood looks like shit. There are a few drips which the guy says he can buff out and the part that really bothers me is some sort of chip or something right on the edge. I'm not sure how it happened, but the body shop guy made it seem like I would just have to live with it and I'm pretty pissed. Is there any way they can make this right without fully repainting the hood?

Fill it in with nail polish if you can find a match.

I could definitely touch it up, but feel like the body shop should make it right.

most quality body shops will clean that up, had a friend bring her subaru over for some parts and i mark a few spots for her to get fixed after the body shop painted a bumper up.

Tell them to fix it you paid for a job to be painted, you did not pay for a job to be touching up with your new paint

Man, those are some rippled-as-fuck reflections. Is it really that bad, or is your garage ceiling made out of a bedsheet?

If I'm seeing something thats not a camera artifact, the chips are the least of it. I'd be hollering for a full repaint.

You can always leave a big sign on your truck, pointing out the shitty work and park it out front of their shop lol!

I think it's partly the canopy that the truck is under, but I do also see some ripples in the paint.
There is a ton of orange peel, but the shop says it's going to be like that regardless.

Unless the rest of the truck has a ton of orange peel and they're matching it, then no, it's not just going to be like that.

I would politely make it very clear that I wasn't going to accept that level of quality. And if they tell you to pound sand a third time, I'd gather documents and file a charge back on my credit card.

Hate to say looks like you got what you paid for, the cheapest quote, cheap quality. But definitely not acceptable. I’m curious what they charged.
