Congrats on the snow day @Fargo Taco

 

This is what I've been working on, this is an Environmental Control Unit which provides breathing air to the scape suit wearer and allows the scaper to be much more mobile as opposed to a hard line. It's rated up to 110 minutes worth of breathing air although the testing we do shows it will run for 130 minutes solid.

Hmmm. That looks like a singulator motor bracket, but definitely not the old style. That brass bushing is throwing me off. We have a couple updated newer style singulator's, so that could be it. Crap, I didn't know this was gonna be my mission today. It's definitely a motor bracket, might be for a curve belt. This building must be newer since the paint color is Repose Gray instead of blue. I'll do some digging, unfortunately I can't post a picture of the machine it goes on.

 

This is a newer building. Depending on which side the bushing gets pressed in determines if it is a left plate or right. That is all I know

 

I'm gonna wind up spending my entire 10 hours there just trying to figure this out

Now, if it's for something for a MaxxReach or Santa Rosa 5 stage, we don't have those in our building. Guess I could look up the prints to those. I could look up that buildings plans, but that would be too easy

 

Rusty wanted me to add a piece on the rear for the lights and move the pipes. The side lights flash.

 

Powder coater was running gray today. Gray it is.

Rusty's tow truck looks a lot cooler than the one my dad got when he drove one for a Mobil station.



And since I dug that one out, might as well include this one, too.

Lox would be almost pure 100% liquid oxygen and would be stored and handled entirely differently because of it being extremely flammable. I've done lox transfers from a tanker truck to a tank and if you get to see a little spillage come boiling at atmosphere that's pretty cool.
This is just 78/21/1 breathing air pulled to vacuum.

 

Skull truck came back for some dual exhaust on both sides.

 

Took this one to the powder coater for a burn off. It’ll be a lot easier for him to get the paint off now.

 

They are starting filming on a film called Project Artemis out here set in the 60's, well today they are bringing in cars for it. They need extras might get my movie career started.

Well 3 days is definitely not enough time to fix this mess..
Got the fixture within about a quarter inch, but I’m out of adjustments without rebuilding a whole new plate. Good enough for government work will have to suffice. I’ll have to get another picture tomorrow. But it makes sense why the .4365” holes were all opened up to .625” now. When in doubt open up the hole and use a bigger washer.

Got 9 hours tomorrow to try and get the bigger fixture in. But it is a lot closer, only .060” out in a few spots.

Problem is no one owns the drawings for these two fixtures. Company is long out of business. And the drawing for similar ones that I have are just different enough and lack necessary details that they are more or less worthless. Resorted to comparing the points on this one to points I have from one in south Texas. Did see a note on one page that said “machine to provided model theoretical values”. Wish I had that model….

 

Made it through another lay off. Every two years now they do it, we wish they wouldn’t announce it until it’s over with, been 4 weeks since they said it’s coming.
