Got my tax return Monday and ordered some ammo from Underwood yesterday. Today they sent me a discount code that's supposedly only good for 48 hrs but I won't be ordering anything else in that time frame. First come, first serve.

I’m considering offloading my FN SLP Tactical to get into one of the new Beretta A300 Ultima Patrols

anyone think I’m stupid for making this change? Yeah it’s like a budget 1301 but I should be able to get enough out of the FN to not have to come out of pocket for the Beretta and I’d have to come out of pocket a bit for a 1301 I think

There are features of the FN I'm not a huge fan of that would go away with the new A300...particularly the pistol grip, the huge chunky picatinny forend, multiple gas pistons to use with different loads

No room in the safe as I already have 7 other scatter guns...can't afford 2 new ones either

Well my cool looking carry handle AR I bought has turned into a turd. Got it over to a gunsmithing buddy of mine. Got the barrel tightened up, still getting an occasional double tap. He suspects a worn or mess with trigger. No problem, got a mil spec laying around. Still getting FTE. Cleaned the chamber really well. It seems that's been messed up/with too. Some rounds have to be hammered out. So now it needs a new barrel. :annoyed:

Also, the 1990s cast (not forged) lower receiver has a chunk missing from the top of the mag well. Nothing function but might as well get a new lower. So I decided to go all A2 and buy a Del-Ton 20" barrel. Thinking about using triangular handguards.
But at this point I've basically bought a carry handle upper and A2 stock, since everything else needs replacing.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Picking up my Sig Spear in 7.62x39 in a couple days. Will it replace my SCAR17, only time will tell. 2 different beasts but my gut says it will.

The SCAR 17 feels large in stature, but not too heavy with the right optics. I set mine up with a Giessele trigger and it rips!! Paired with an FNX45 Tac and the SPR in .308
    The trio is pretty slick.

I hope it works for you. Sig and the x39 round don’t have a great history. Based on my experience with a 556R several years ago I can say don’t expect it to run on anything but match grade ammo. My 556R went in for warranty work 3 times and still couldn’t get through a 20 round mag with fewer than 3 malfunctions. Might be a light strike, failure to feed, or failure to eject. The only malfunction I didn’t get was a double feed. The only answer I could get was that it ran fine on whatever bougie ammo they were using. Then again, none of the Sigs I bought between 2010 and 2015 worked. At all. At least my 365 functions. The sights are way off, but it does go bang every time (so far).

This is a completely new system for Sig. It will run match to steel case wolf. I did my research on this before the purchase. That sucks you had such a bad experience with Sigs. My legions and MPX run flawlessly, and haven’t had any hiccups. I have seen a lot of AR10 platforms that can get finicky in .308, not so much AK platforms.
The Spear in .762 only makes sense for me, as all I shoot are FALs, AKs, M1As, and large bolt guns. It’s a piston driven system and has no buffer tube or spring, which is my preference.
