Thanks for the reminder... I need to do this. My last 2nd gen Tacoma fuel door was all bent out of shape because of the hinge sticking. An ounce of prevention...

Same. I struggle to get the lithium spray to penetrate the hinge on my gas door. Recently I tried some garage door hinge lube I have and that seemed to penetrate better.

This thread has me in somewhat of an existential crisis, LOL, because my door is too stiff to flick. And is this a normal position?

Slide a straight edge along the bedside over the gas door. If it catches, it may need adjusted. If there is a large gap, it's a tacoma, probably born that way.

Gap on left looks much larger than gap on right though...

Both rules apply to normal and non-normal gas doors actually.

    Schrodingers gas door really.

Yes, it is. The left is much wider and the right is nearly flush. I feel like I've seen a thread on straightening them; I'll take a look around.

Just had my gas door replaced last week because it was bent and wouldn't latch without kicking it closed.

    Update:

I bought this and used it on the gas door hinge as well as the tailgate hinges and latch. I removed the tailgate panel to better access the hinges and there's a noticeable improvement. I should probably do the door hinges and latches while I think of it.

I bought some lithium grease in a tube and worked it into the hinge really good . Not real sure how it's gonna do when I hose everything down when I wash it.

Tick tock, buddy. Where’s my cinema?

Also, thanks to all of you mutants, I found fuel door god and did my baptismal white lithium greasing of my hinge AND THEN nearly broke the damn thing the other day because it swung open so freely. So…it’s better…I guess.
