RIP Raquel Welch

Actress and model Raquel Welch passed away 2/15/ 23 at her home in Los Angeles CA. after a brief illness, she was 82. She is survived by a son and a daughter. Born on 9/5/40 in Chicago Illinois her career spanned sixty years. Receiving a Golden Globe in 1975 and a Star on Hollywood's walk of Fame. With her stunning natural beauty, she is ranked number 3 by Playboy on their list of the 100 sexiest stars of the 20th century.

Her absolute stunning beauty often masked what a wonderful actress she was. Check her out in Fantastic Voyage from 1966 or Fathom from 1967 with Tony Franciosa or in 100 Rifles from 1969 with Jim Brown, Burt Reynolds and Fernando Lamas, the father of Renegade's Lorenzo Lamas. All good movies to watch. She also shows up in an episode of Bewitched from '64 which I have not seen.

 

I mentioned on the Delaware Tacomas Thread Thursday morning of her passing Wednesday Night...Raquel was 82.

It reminded me to contact my mother who turned 80 the first week in Feb and still looks good after all these years.

She sent me pics of her bday party and this is the first time I noticed she has started to look her age.

I told my wife (who lost her mother at 80 a couple of years ago) and she agreed, we both need to fly out to SoCal/Inland Empire and see her.

Life is precious and Raquel had a great career. The gorgeous bombshell that she is/was aged gracefully.
