Since my dad doesn't really drive any more he has passed his 05 standard cab base Tacoma on to me, with a whopping 40K miles on it. Of course being the person I am I've already figured out what I want to do with the suspension. At least a 3/4 or 4/5 drop, but I want better handling than what leaf springs will give me. I would like to do a parallel 4-link, outside the frame rails so I can keep the gas tank and exhaust stock.

Wondering if anyone has done this yet so I can get any pointers?

If not I'll post up the adventure as I do it but it'll be a while since having the truck has afforded me the opportunity to finish up a lot of the mods on my other vehicle.

I'm even lazier, most likely going to go with one of ThorBros pre-welded kits. Looks like I can fit the 28" bars to max out the length. I was more worried about clearances between the frame and tire but if I watch my wheel/tire widths and offsets it shouldn't be a big deal.
