Magnaflow Muffler 13256, has anyone tried this muffler on their Tacoma? I bought a Walker system with a straight through fart can, WAY to loud for me. Not a yo yo hond civic! I put a Thrush hush turbo in, was decent but, it rotted out in 2 years, or, less.
Haven't found an OME Toyota cat back for under $400.00. I'm in the northeast salt and corrosion area! Need some stainless construction in the exhaust.
    Thanks

Trd catback is going to be the more “quiet” exhaust. I love the sound, just the right amount of rumble and quiets down while cruising. Had the magnaflow on a 1st gen and it was pretty loud, sounded great though

Isn't the TRD muffler a straight through? I think there's a substantial amount of feedback on here claiming its loud. Probably going to bite the bullet and get a stock setup from the dealer.

If your looking for the stock muffler a catback will be too loud for sure, but if you want a rumble and exhaust sound without it being too loud the trd is great. It’s loudest while accelerating and not too loud otherwise. Stock vs trd

I had a Hush Thrush Turbo, it wasn't bad sounding, as far as v6 noise goes. It kind of looks like the TRD exhaust is discontinued, have to check with the dealer. If they can find one, look to be $30-$40 less than the stock deal.
    Thanks tacomataco2

I saw your thread awhile back. Darn nice job done!! A decent TIG is on the top of my wish list. I couldn't find any info on that muffler, Dynomax 304SS. What design is it? Chambered, Turbo, Straight perforated tube, etc.

Doesn't look probable that I can even locate a TRD cat back system. The local dealer has the OEM system in stock. As most of use know, defiantly pricey!!

It's a glass wrapped perforated tube. The muffler is an offset. The way the pipe is run in the stock configuration, the offset/center muffler was the appropriate choice.

I love my trd exhaust. Sounds great, no drone, and quiets down when cruising. Where at in the northeast are you? I have my factory exhaust I could let go of. It’s for a DCLB but could be shortened to fit a DCSB or ACLB.

I'm in southeastern New Hamshire, thanks for the thought.
The local dealer has an OEM cat back in stock. Going to check if thet can get a TRD for $30-$40 less, probably go that route. I was good with the noise level of the turbo style muffler, if the TRD is a little quieter I'll be happy.

I just read through that post/thread, pretty cool! I bought a cheap flux core wire feed welder at HF a short while back and have been playing with it lately, but have been jonesing for a TIG welder lately.
It'd probably be like the welder I have and it would sit in the box for a year before I opened it.
    Nice work my Taco brother!

There are DC tig welders on Amazon for under $500. I sold mine when I had to move to VA. My next one will be a AC/DC welder though. I want to be able to weld AL.

So I ended up geting the TRD exhaust. Gave our local dealer the part #, he said there are 5 in the warehouse, have it in a week to week an 1/2. Was over $50.00 less than the stock exhaust, even better it got delivered in 4 working days. It wouldn't have hurt my feelings if it was a little quieter. Sounds way better than the straight through, fart can I had on there! If I can get a few bucks for the old system, it will be a win win.
