What isn't Canada Number 1 at?

I would take mine off in the winter for better ice traction. I'm in the bush and can encounter snow, ice, mud and rock all the same day so I get my DuraTracs siped because a dedicated winter won't hold up in the mud and rocks. They are good on ice, but not as good as the Blizzaks on the Rav4.

    Canada is #1 at nothing.

But replacing the Duratracs in winter for a dedicated snow tire is a good call if you're doing a lot of pavement or ice when it gets really cold out like below -20c you need better grip and better stopping allowed by true dedicated winter tire.
Duratracs aren't exactly a true winter tire and there are a lot of serious snow rubber out there, like Nokian etc.

I have been running duratracs for 6+years now on 3 different trucks and to put it simply I wouldn't hesitate to run them again.
Recently made a change just for the sake of trying somthing new.
I I'll just refer to my most recent set as I put them through the ringer over the past year.
    285/70r17 E load ran for approximately 25,000km at 33psi
These saw a ton of hwy and gravel, mud/ice wheeling.
    Pros-
Treadwear, these started off with 18/32 and had only dropped to 14/32 when I sold them off after 25k
Tread, this are deffenitely a more aggressive at tread with a fair amount of siping that aids in ice and wet conditions.
Weight, at 55lbs a tire this has to be one of the lightest offerings in a 285. Some will argue they have a weak sidewall or be more puncture prone but I did not experience any issues with that
    Cons-
Balancing, this could be due to running them aired down quite often but I did have to re balance them twice. It's not like they were so out it you couldn't live with it but I can be picky about any vibration.
Noise, this did get a bit louder with wear but for an agressive AT I would say it's reasonable.
Mud, this one isn't as much of a con as just a characteristic of an at tire rather than at mt. These do not clear mud easily but a more compact tread void it's to be expected.

I have extensive time on k02's at3's and general grabbers for comparison.
So if my new set of g003's doesn't pan out you can expect to see me back on duratracs in the future always a reliable and consistent tire for me.
