Hey guys need your help. Installed an ebay special keyless entry on my 97 tacoma sr5 4x4. I wired it wrong and accidentally put positive signal instead of negative signal. Once i realized my mistake i swap it. Worked great with after market key-fob. Tucked everything away and put door panel and kick panels on and when i tested everything for proper functions noticed that my lock switch did nothing. Windows and electric mirrors work great. Works good with keyfob but nothing from the button. When i use the key im able to unlock both doors from passenger side but not lock them. Only locks the driver door. Any ideas what i could have burnt or screwed up? Thanks in advanced

Does the passenger switch work correctly?
Or does it do exactly what the key does?

No it doesn't work either… tomorrow i will check wiring by the body ecu to see if I accidentally unplugged something while tucking everything away. I dint test the key on the passenger door to see if that triggers the lock and unlock feature for both doors

Yes but i tapped into them at the bottom panel by where the fuse box is. I tapped into the red/yellow and red/white wires

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Can you post the instructions that came remote door lock kit?

I am guessing the power locks worked correct before this project?

Either a poor connection or you disconnected something in wiring in the control box.

    Just poor Ebay quality.

Yeah ill post them in a bit.

yeah worked perfectly fine. I was trying to make it more convenient installing this but literally took one step forward 3 steps back…

i will go through my wiring again. I used t taps and verified i had good connections. What does the control box look like? I ordered a replacement door switch for the driver side to see if that was the issue. I get it monday.

The locks look to work by sending a ground signal to the power lock relay.
It’s looking like they had to tap into the master switch. But, they could have tapped into the door lock (key) side.

Be nice to know which wires they had you tap into.

tapped into the door lock key side. Where the wires from the door come into the cab. The first time i wired it I accidentally wired it to where it was sending 12v+ to the relay and i noticed i was wrong so rewired it to sending ground signal.

I have an idea how the aftermarket controller works.
I assume it’s a relay controlled by a wireless receiver.

The receiver controls the relay, and the relay send ground signal to the door control relay.

You need to see if the door master switch is sending ground to the door control relay.

Here is the diagram for a 97
