when does the factory retool for next model year

    wondering when the factory does it and the lead in time for the last current year builds get delivered. i tried searching but nothing specific popped up

    Late summer. Procurement has been working with vendors for a long time on getting everything from paint to seat springs coming in early fall. Logistics are pretty incredible when this happens. As far as in house manufacture, Toyota will simply swap tooling in production and remember, after sales will continue to produce 3rd gen parts for years to come.
    Do I know if Toyota does it exactly like that? No, but that's how we do it and there is not many different ways a global manufacturer can do it differently.

    it really depends on how far they need to re-tool.

    ford shut down for something like 3 months to re-tool for the new ev f150.
