Define totaled

I just wonder how many totaled trucks it took to make this one..

Was everything replaced? maybe just the original hardware?

 

I'm guessing 3 or maybe 4

 

OG engine and interior (airbags deployed) - but I don’t honestly know. I know they reused the rear end and axle (unless they found one and replaced it with a bent one).

They were really transparent about the truck - and they give the photos to the new owners upon request.

 

Yup. No airbags went off. I was fine and in a semi a few hours later. The next day I passed my CDL test. Ive had my CDL for almost a month now. The truck had a hole in the frame too so it wasmt going to live much longer due to its location. It was a blessing in disguise because I was able to upgrade a little

 

Probably have to do a yearly car tag in 4 different states…

So you didn't do any of the work, you just bought it after is was repaired and then they gave you the pictures? You are very brave and you don't have to answer, but what kind of a deal did you get on it if I may ask?

Shouldn't of had those fog lights on and you woulda never had that happen...

 

Auto body workers and some fabricators can do miracles with fixing up pretty banged up cars.

if you buy a salvage, you need to know exactly what was fixed. Often times what will total a vehicle is if any of the high alloy steel parts get damaged. They cannot be straightened or welded without compromising strength. There is little to none of this in 1st and 2nd gen Tacos. But 3rd gen has a lot of it in the cab - don't wait until an accident to discover something is only as 20% as strong as it should be.

 

Was this like 1/2 off from a clean title ?

 

I got a pretty good deal on it.

 

Honestly I hope you did. That’s the most fubared truck that got brought back to life i have seen. Kind of wild that they chose to fix it. There is basically not a straight panel on it.

 

Was the frame straight?
