haha, well my dad always told me if it wasn’t for bad luck he’d have no luck at all. I’ve never won anything at the casinos myself so I have to keep going to work to make my own luck.

 

What the Hell!? Nothing worse than getting done like that.

I know exactly how you feel. I was just going thru my old rock crawler build thread over on SeriousExplorations.com /explorerforum.com and saw this comment I made not knowing that I'd actually become self-employed from that moment on.



We were expecting our youngest son to be born two days later. I was only going to take alittle time in between jobs to help with our son but found out after he was born he needed physical therapy a couple times a week because he was born with torticollis (definition below for those not familiar), he also had a slight curve in his spine and his legs couldn't extend out fully. He was head down the entire pregnancy, weighed just shy of 10lbs. when he was born and my wife is only 5'2" petite build (he had no room to move) LOL.



Time passed by quickly. The first 3 1/2 years blew by staying busy with Jacob and doing his physical therapy sessions, taking care of the house, our other son, all while working for myself. It's now been 6 1/2 years since I had a (regular paycheck /go to job). It's been a struggle a couple times, not gonna lie but I'm my own boss, no shitty coworkers or shittier bosses to deal with. I'm making more money doing my own thing than I was at any of my jobs. Since the pandemic hit people have realized that they can make it doing their own thing, you just need to figure out what that is and go for it. For me, I'm not running my own shop (metal fabrication, offroad builds, musclecar, custom vehicles) like I always envisioned but I'm supporting my family and set my own schedule.

Oh, this was Battle Born My old rockcrawler. 2003 Ford Sport Trac custom fabricated suspension, sliders, front and rear bumpers with swingout tire carrier, under belly skids. I built everything from scratch because they never made anything for these trucks. 37's on recentered H1 double beadlocks, too many other mods to list.

 

It’s been a long time since I have been to Harrisburg without just passing by.
