have had this happen twice since 2019, the led to light the switch when the lights are on fails.

the "standard switch illumination" works but, the "lights on illumination" portion of the switch stops lighting up, to let you know the lights are on, when the switches are push in/on. so only half of the switch illumination works.

I know they have a warranty but, mine failed after the year warranty limit.

    thanks in advance. Ski

Haven’t had any trouble from mine. Not trying to hijacker’s your thread, but does anyone know what type of connector the CH4x4 switches use? The green ones.

I had one that failed, but I wanted to replace it anyways as it was a generic "light bar" switch. Same deal, on with illumination light failed. If you decide replace it, pull the face off to check the viability of replacing the light. I didn't think about it at the time.

Digikey has them but I can’t find the part #’s. There’s a whole range of M/F connectors of this type along with the pins that are used. I bought some so I could daisy chain my switches.

I haven't had issues but I know I'm the lucky one. There are other threads about their dual-switch, and how the internal circuitry is all kinds of fubar'd.

I didnt do a full search here but, I did go back a few pages looking for something on this issue. Received my new ones today, lets see how long these last. verified the illumination when light is on, failed on both older switches. new switches work like they should, olds ones do not. sucks having OCD and not being able to deal with non fully functioning lighting. ;) Ski

Hey Guys, I came up with a solution that has been working great so far for me on the Small Push Button Switches. I’m not sure if it’ll work on the large but it’s worth a shot. I took some pictures. It’s kinda ridiculous you’d have to do this anyways for how much they cost ($20+ fricking dollarz) but I really wanted to keep the factory OEM look and the white lighting LEDs so I’m taking that trade off.

So this is a disassembled switch. It’s pretty easy with a very small flathead screwdriver to pop the plastic cover off. Remove the green board/LEDs and spring mechanism first. (I don’t have a picture but it’s pretty self explanatory, just be gentle)

The spring pushes the blue notched rod, you will have to carefully lift this out of the switch faces white notch as it locks them together.

Then slide the face out and you’re ready to reassemble without the face.

I put a tiny bit of white lithium grease on the white plastic area that will come out with the face. (Don’t overdo it, it’ll make a mess, and it will gunk up in the cold causing more work for the tiny little spring.

Here is the finished look once you reinstall the black switch body.
Gently push the switch face back into their slot from the outside and you will hear a click. That should be the switch activating. Press it again and they should push back out easily. (Keep in mind, they are loose, so if one were to get stuck, you could take something and pry it back out worst case scenario but I haven’t had to yet even in 20 degree weather.

They protrude just a little bit, but I have had them like this for a couple weeks and haven’t had one get caught up yet or had the switch face fall out. Hope this helps.

I’ll try to get some better photos.

    Solution to what problem?

They get stuck very often and won’t shut off when you need them to (such as when another vehicle is coming down the trail) whoops :anonymous:

If you google problems with the push button switches it is a major complaint.

Was just wondering which of the problems you were talking about. I solved the one you refer to by sanding with xtra fine sandpaper and wiping with acetone to relieve the stickiness(acetone dissolves abs so use sparingly). Any lube will eventually attract dust and get sticky again forcing a repeat treatment.
