I had aftermarket tint, so my window didn't shatter. The replacement window had tint, and I don't to find out if that keeps it from shattering...

A log in the back of my truck told me factory tint windows actually do shatter.

I may try to improvise a headache rack on the ladder rack next to the cab in the future.

I might get a layer of clear ceramic tint, so not only will it really keep the sun out, but save me from a huge mess if it gets broken again...

Looks good, thanks for sharing the link. I see the rack itself is about $300 and requires an installation kit. I didn't see a link or price to that (in a bit of a hurry this morning).... Do you recall appx how much a fit kit is?

I bought mine around 2010 or so with a kit. Needless to say, prices are no longer what they were. My BackRack with the kit was less than my cost to replace the sliding window. It has saved me several times since.

Got an appointment set up for Friday morning with Safelite. $100 deductible. They said it's going to be an all day service and they have to take the rear seats out of the access cab. C'mon Friday.....
