The o ring in my transfer case module is shot and allowing it to leak, causing the flashing 4 and 4LO lights. Does anyone know the part number for this o ring or if I can just get one from hardware store?

edit: this is the shift motor, not the module I guess.

Ideally OP @TrdAaron has a calipers they can use to take exact ID, OD, & thickness measurements.

Prices at that Orings website look very reasonable, as does shipping, which starts at $7 via USPS.

For example, this is 11 cents per O-ring with a min. quantity of 10 rings = $1.10.

If you do end up measuring & locating a perfect-fit replacement O-ring, do share the part #, dimensions, and source here for future reference.

SAE O-rings go by dash numbers (eg -204 is 3/8" ID and 5/8" OD ~1/8" thick).

Metric O-rings go by exact measurements not part numbers unless a manufacturer lists a part number.

Great, thanks everyone! Unfortunately I don’t have calipers, but I roughly measured it at ~3.25 diameter (that is not exact so don’t take it as a measurement!). I got a o ring kit from Lowe’s, but none of them fit. So I did some surgery on one and band-aided it with a little bit of grease for the time being, until I can find the right o ring.

I may just replace the whole thing… it’s given me problems before but I’ve managed to fix it every time.

These aren't Mitutoyos or Starretts but they get pretty good reviews & will probably get the job done for this kind of application, if you're interested. $16 is about as low as it gets.
