Hello everyone! I’m new here and I recently bought a 2002 Toyota Tacoma Limited! I’m very exited to start building this car, and I know that I will have lots of questions to ask. Can someone tell me what the gear ratios are for the diffs and the t-case? And also what is the preferred ATF to use? Thanks!

If you do a google search for your vehicles spec sheet it will tell you what ratios it came with

This place is full of great resources and 20+ years of collective knowledge on these trucks.

If you haven't already found the you tube channel, Timmy the Toolman has great videos on pretty much every minor to major maintenance task, including some on changing the transmission fluid, and I highly suggest watching that before doing any ATF fluid changes. I would also caution you on doing a complete flush, and go with a few drain and fills over the course of a few thousand miles, especially if you don't know the service history of the transmission.

Another great resource, if write-ups and pictures are more of your style, is Adventure Taco.

Check your ATF dipstick and it'll be stamped on there which fluid to use. Going to be either DexII or DexIII.
