I wouldn't have even tried. You're a (fill in the blank) man than me for even trying. I would have been told to make sure I can sleep in it.

Taking Thursday off for a three day weekend. Probably going to go get the truck dirty. Anyone interested? 70-80* is the forecast.

It's overpriced, but not by as much as you'd think. He'll probably get in the $50k range from a smart buyer. An idiot would pay asking. It's nice, but not as nice as the ad makes it sound. It's been used for its purpose if you look at the pictures closely. I've seen fully restored FJs go for $50k plus. This is just a decent resto-mod.

And I think everyone should have a trail welder. Most ingenious thing I've ever seen. I have no idea why it needs three batteries. Two are plenty. But nobody consulted me for the build. Mystery to me why not.

I still think that those asking prices should be closer to stock and in better condition. But what do I know? Certainly not the market for vintage Toyotas. Personally, I would never pay that much for something that didn't have a stock driveline..but that's just me. As for resto-mods, I agree that this is a decent example especially compared to what some companies are charging for their frame-up jobs.

End of the day, if it makes you happy then that's all that matters!

That's a nice FJ. Putting in a chevy small block 350 has always been common with the FJs because the original engines lack what else is new....power! But I see that they polyurea'd the body inside the engine bay and maybe the interior. I'm not a fan of that. They were better off just adding a noise barrier because that sucker is gonna be loud inside! lol. Also noted they added an altimeter and compass, but they should have gone the more traditional route of just taking one from an 80's landcruiser or recent FJs that have them as a on the top of the dash part. It's a nice build regardless. A resto mod type that I would like to get into also.

I had bought a 72 FJ40 when I was about 17 years old (late 80's) for $500 from an old farmer and it was all original and needed some engine work. I let it sit and lost interest and gave it to my cousin who promptly sold it. That is probably my one and only painful car decision I ever made in my life. Wish I could do that all over again.
