Glad you are ok, does not seem totaled but mileage is certainly an important item to consider. Please keep us updated.

Thank you to everyone that pointed out the obvious. My passengers and I are lucky to not have sustained serious injuries or worse. A swerve could have easily produced a rollover. To answer a few questions, the truck has 99k miles on it. Hood & fenders are all misaligned. If is totaled out, will definitely be looking to rebuild. Vehicle has a 3" Fox kit, Camburg billet UCA, brand new K02 on RSC Ray10s, and full K2 Focal sound; which I know the adjuster will ignore when creating a value.

Seems odd that all your airbags deployed. Did you launch over the tire? If it isn't totaled, you will take a beating in resale value because that airbag deployment will show up on your Carfax in a nasty way. Whatever you get from diminished value will be a small percentage of what you will actually lose.

Any pics of the tire you hit? also I feel the added sale value of the pro might work in your favor preventing it from being totaled.

100% totaled and I am willing to bet on it. My 2016 was written off June 2020 after a box truck hit the front passenger side quarter panel. It did less damage than this and only deployed my side impact airbags.

My father-in-law owns a body shop and they're writing off almost new vehicles thanks to the lack of parts availability. Toyota and Nissan being some of the worst offenders. Cost of repair is not the only factor at play when writing off a vehicle, they will also consider paying out loss of use and reimbursement for taxi/Uber etc.

Parts availability is a great point, rental cars are expensive and waiting for parts hurts the insurance company's bottom line at the expense of the owners.

Yep. My father-in-law has a 2021 Murano Platinum that just got written off because the loss of use is at $7,000 and still no ETA on parts.

That sucks. My uneducated guess is going to be either totalled or very close to.
Reasons, there will be structural damage, body damage, radiator, ac, possibly engine contact. Not to mention everything underneath that we can't see. The big $$$ issue is going to be the SRS. Bags, sensors, seat belts add up fast and are usually the cause for it tipping the scale.

Back in the day my sister had a Nissan Xterra, she tapped a highway dividing wall in Idaho on a snowy night. Insurance totaled the thing due to slight frame damage up front. It was less damage than ops pic shows so I assume they don’t want to mess with the frame?

If that’s a smashed Nevada plate on front that explains it. Insurance companies don’t gamble in that state lol!!!

If your insurance says differently, point them to this thread and make sure they understand just how wrong they are. There is a reason you asked us.

You can literally see the perfect V shaped indent where the tire contacted dead center the middle of his intake. That is the scenario that the airbags are designed to deploy in because it gets pretty close to simulates hitting a brick wall.

I'd be very surprised if it isn't totaled from the airbag cost alone.

I do not remember the exact amount, but my estimate was about $15,000 CAD for side airbags on my 2016. Damage to front end itself was only about $6,000. It was written off very quickly. Headlight tabs were broken, rad support was bent, grille clips were also broken.

Airbags do not deploy from impact. The deploy from sudden change in velocity. They aren't like landmines that have a pressure switch.

Okay play a game with me: what's the result of a front-end impact on a vehicles velocity?

Hard to look at. Sorry this happened, but glad you’re alright.

Totaled or not comes down to damage relative to assessed value of the truck. Hard to say w/o inspecting the frame underneath or knowing what the trucks worth.

Based on how it gets put back together and the inevitable resale hit, you might prefer calling it a total loss, and starting over w a check.

Damn, Based on the miles on your truck doesnt look like totaled. Whatever you do make sure they make sure your frame is straight.

People talk shit about the trd aluminum skid plate but one look at it on this truck says the situation would be a lot worse if it wasn’t on the truck. It definitely did it’s job.
