An issue has showed up in the past day where both the dome light and the passenger door light have failed to come on when the door is open. The dome light wont come on even in the on position. Both bulbs are good and the fuses are all good as well. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Appreciate the response. I checked to see if the switches mightve been bad by depressing the one on the passenger door. After letting off, the light on the drivers door still toggled on and off with the switch as normal.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Perhaps check the right door switch with a meter.

When the switch closes it completes the circuit to ground .

You might get lucky if you work the switch numerous times.

Does the right door get used often the switches are known for corroding from being inactive?

My right door is never used my right door switch has not worked in years.

Could be either the dome and passenger switch or bad grounds or a combination. Diagnosis is just visual inspection followed by bypassing each in turn to find the causes. Start by manually connecting the (supposedly) grounded side of each switch to the chassis with the switch being tested closed. If the light comes on it’s a bad ground. If bypassing the switch makes the light come on it’s the switch. If it takes bypassing both to make it come on then it’s both a bad switch and a bad ground. A truck this old “bad ground” could be either corrosion or a broken wire. “Bad switch” could be the same or spider silk preventing contact. For some reason spiders love to make nests in 12v switches like these and doorbell/garage door buttons.
