‘23 is the last year for it. Should be able to get deal.

GTRV has been doing poptop conversions for them.

Yep, all about looking cool, practicality is second, or often third.

We used to have Ford E-Series, those were awful to drive, the new unibody vans drive like cars. I could live with it as a daily, however no one is making one with a 4WD system that I liked. A low roof short wheel base Transit would be manageable, didn’t care for them using rag joints in their driveline, that and no low range.

I live in basically dirt bike Mecca, bring my bike with me to work then ride after. Van would be nice to keep it out of sight. Weighed the pros and cons, and a Tacoma was the do-it-all compromise.

I dunno, jumping in a 70s-80s truck…it is almost barbaric compared to the new stuff. I used to be nostalgic, but not anymore.

Think we pretty much all know the 4th Gen Taco is going to be a smaller version of the Tundra, which isn’t a bad thing. Have you been in one? They are nice! We have come a long way from bouncing down the road on a bench seat, can’t say I want to go back to that.

Vehicles are horrible investments (more like liabilities than anything) wouldn’t worry too much about resale, going to loose money no matter what. The march of consumerism will never end…right now fingers are being pointed at dirty smelly petrol vehicles, and tomorrow people will be up in arms about the raping of the earth of resources for EVs. Nothing is perfect.

Well said. I chuckle when I see posts that tout the Tacoma's resale value, yet in the same sentence saying they're keeping it forever. If you're keeping it forever, resale value isn't really a factor at all.

reminds me of people who spend $50,000 on an electric car when they could spend $30,000 and buy a nice hybrid or $15,000 and buy a used Civic and buy a lot of gas with it!

Yep. Or the guy who has a paid off truck that gets 15 mpg (for example) and spends $40,000 on a new vehicle that gets 30 mpg and then convinces himself he's saving so much money. The payback will be years and years and years; in this example it'll be over 300,000 miles before he breaks even. Some people do not have any common sense at all.

You have to remember to most buying an electric vehicle is about showing allegiance to their god….the environment. They buy an electric vehicle to please their god and get kudos and status points with the hip crowd. It isn’t about actual dollars for them even though probably the overall environmental footprint is the same with a Civic/Corolla and a $50k EV. You’re right not even close to a savings in their wallet.

No AWD is what made me pass. Smallest cargo van with AWD would be a Ford Transit short wheelbase low roof. Which isn’t bad.

For the money the Tacoma has a better 4WD system, went that route instead. That and it is basically a cargo trailer with an engine, IIRC cargo length is 11’, a 10-12’ cargo trailer can accomplish the same thing, wouldn’t have to daily a van.

This is the main reason I didn’t go with a Transit, they use a rag joint on the front driveshaft. If they cut corners there, where else did they?

All the while they point fingers as they jump in their Prius….or is it now a Tesla?

Wonder if they realize that their EV didn’t magically pop into existence. :)

Not likely Tesla. They're angry at Elon for wrecking their precious Twitter and airing their dirty laundry.
