Man we had a significant icing event after I got home from work last night. Lots of tree branches down, traffic lights out everywhere.

Just enough to look kinda cool.
We got an ice storm last night and of course I’m up in the hills where every road is covered in ice and all the “dirt” is now mud. Sigh at least my trailer hasn’t overtaken me yet…

I hear you,we run recaps also. Best week I had was four blowouts. Another time was two on the same axle and side. They are cheaper but you don't get the mileage and where is the savings when it blows at 50% and takes the fender out. Then you sit there waiting for a service truck, although I have run home with an inside flat because I wanted to get out of my truck. Told my boss Mar20 I'm done , 45 years of driving and I'm taking some time for me and the wife to have fun. Won't miss chaining up to go over some stupid mountain backroad to deliver gravel.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Our linehaul guys haven't run the past 2 nights because of the weather. Was told yesterday to show up @ 10:30 today, figuring there would be little if any freight to deliver and there was none, only did pickups. Total of 4.7 hrs today. Tomorrow will probably be crazy as about half of our P&D drivers were sent out to linehaul this morning to try to catch up, they were starting to get back when I was heading home. So we'll have double the freight tomorrow since linehaul will be running normal tonight. Yay, longest day of the week on Friday.

Same with the garbage company we share a road with at work, a holes. You'll be backing up to get in a dock and the just drive right behind you, by the time you see them in your mirrors it's to late. One of our drivers backed into a garbage truck because of that, lol. Hey let me remove your mirror and steps from the side of your truck for you, lmao. No damage to the trailer.
