Hey, my sprucies. Long time reader, first time poster, brought here by the sad news that my 2014 SR5 Spruce Green SR5 was totaled in May when a Prius rear-ended it at a stoplight and drove it about 6 feet forward from a dead stop before it hit...another Prius. (It was a very Seattle collision.) Just learned this today because it took that long to get it into the shop and in front of a competent estimator. (When they looked at it in June, they said 5000 bucks, which...I am a lady who sits in an office all day and it was obvious to me the frame was bent.) Anyway, they don't think they can straighten it, and they can't find the parts, so I guess that's the end of the road.

Here's a picture in better days (if not in better lighting).20210525_175613.jpg

lol, imho the exhaust chop is often unnecessary

I have always said I would cut it after I smashed it though....

UPDATE! My truck might rise from the dead--after calling a Toyota parts warehouse and then actual Toyota, THEY DO STILL MANUFACTURE THE FRAME. (Seems logical. They're still putting new frames under older Tacomas under the recall, so of course they still make the frame.)

No one was hurt in the accident. My husband was driving and he has Marshawn Lynch style connective tissue, so his neck hurt for a day. The lady in the at-fault Prius was fine. (Airbags didn't deploy.) The guy in the Prius in front that barely got tapped had just had back surgery, so I guess both Priuses can be happy the Tacoma was there.

It's fun trying to maneuver this trail limo between trees and pick up firewood.

This is 2nd chance. First truck got t-boned by some 20 year old on his cellphone that didn't see the stop sign. Loved my first truck so much I bought the exact same one. lucked out and only had to drive 3 hours for it, 1 owner, 77k. previous owner took meticulous care, filled out maintenance schedule book with every date and mileage of oil changes. plugs changed every 30k and tranny already had one premature drain & fill. newer struts on back. dealership hooked it up with brand new brakes/rotors/tires all the way around so she handles like new! gonna do diff and t-case fluid and flush coolant, power steering and possibly brake and call it good until well after 100 k. just oil changes and work on getting a lift. already have SCS brushed copper ray 10s and dirt king LCA's sitting in garage :D
