As you can guess from title I need a new insurance carrier. I’ve been with Progressive for at least 10 years now with 2 cars at least 1 motorcycle and homeowners policies. 2 months ago I got rear ended while driving my wife’s car. The guy that hit me had insurance. My issue is that complete and total lack of service from Progressive. I called them the day after it happened, talked to rep who took all the info from me and supposedly set up appointment with body shop. The actual claims adjuster called the next day and I missed the call because I was in a meeting. She sent me a text a minute later to whic I responded stating I was in a meeting but I would be available in 30 minutes and for the rest of day. Nothing. A week goes by and I call adjuster and leave message. No response another week goes by still no call back but I get a letter from progressive stating they will close claim if I can’t be reached. I called adjuster the next day again. Still no response. Called the general claims number 3 days later and asked to speak with a supervisor(felt like a Karen, ha). The next day the adjuster called finally took my statement and assured me I would hear back from her within a day to confirm body shop appointment. That was 4 weeks ago.

long story long, I’m done with these fuckwits.

Mostly stock, just getting it to my liking, just happy to have had the taco and now my 4Runner.
State Farm, local office, they have done right by me, and my agent is always looking to save me some money, I just upped my coverages to the maximum they could do since he found another savings for me, so maxed it out and dropped my payment at the same time. Plus they have the tracker that lets me save monthly for good driving habits.

I have USAA, have had them for the last 11 years and I’ve had nothing but excellent service from them. Not sure if you’re military/veteran but if you are I’d definitely look into them.

some of this, a little of that
State Farm, my agent and his office staff are great, the claims adjusters and everyone else in that company can go fuck themselves... They are difficult to deal with at times, but they are the cheapest with the bundle for home and the cars and my wifes life insurance.

That sucks to hear about your experience with Progressive! Mine was the complete opposite and probably the least painful experience I've ever had with an insurance company. State Farm can be a mixed bag, local agent is good but as others have stated claims people seemed indifferent and stand offish when I had to deal with them. I will NEVER deal with Liberty Mutual. Was hit by one of their insured and had to fight tooth and nail to get paid.

Fast service. The adjuster contacted us w/i hours of filing a claim.

New roof in 2020 from Tornado damage & negotiated a lower price on repairing our vehicle when it was hit in an intersection.

We insure 4 vehicles, the house & an umbrella policy covering the Idaho land

Farm Bureau has really great claims service (auto and home), but their agents (real people) are old school types that want to sell you an annuity every time you talk to them. Still the fact that they have their own claims team (not third parties) will keep me with them.

Yet sometimes I worry as I watch sports that my insurance isn't "funny enough"...

I had USAA for about 10 years until they raised their rates so I shopped around. At that time got the best rate from Liberty Mutual and been with them for about 5 years. Both have been fine to deal with on minor accidents that weren't my fault. From talking to body shops, USAA is the smoothest process with less nickle-dime in the accident appraisal process.

Any AAA customers? Thinking about going with them after being with geico for 20 years since their rates keep increasing.

I had Geico for 10 years and dropped them this fall when I bought a house. I went to state farm for everything and so far their great. cheaper than geico, and everything is under one plan

I have USAA for about 15 years or so. Only ever had one claim, they took excellent care of me. Before that, I had AAA. When I went into my local AAA office to do other business, I mentioned to my agent I was dropping my AAA auto insurance coverage. She asked why. I said USAA finally opened up membership to all Vets, not just retired. She immediately said "Oh, they are great. I would go with them myself if I could". They are not cheap, though....... at least not for homeowners coverage. On the three houses I have had since being with USAA, their quotes have always been among the highest, so I have only ever had their coverage for cars and motorcycles.

My family had been loyal Allstate clients for many, many years. I was with them myself for almost 20 years, then I had a fender bender in a grocery store parking lot while backing out of a parking space. Other car had some grill and hood damage, the bumper of my full sized truck had barely a scratch, I never even filed a claim for it. But because the other party did, Allstate jacked my rates through the roof. I called my agent and asked "So, what about this TV ad nonsense where Allstate says 'if you haven't had an accident in 5 years, we won't raise your rates if you have one?'" She said "Well... that's just marketing. And it is not available in California." So, needless to say, I dropped Allstate immediately and went to AAA. I sent a very explicit letter to the company and my agent, explaining that I will not deal with a company that falsely advertises and then does exactly the opposite of what they advertise. Up until that point, their TV ads talking about "accident forgiveness" never had any disclaimers. After my letter, I saw they started adding "not available in CA" in tiny font to their TV ads.......

Erie insurance. The rates were comparable or better to all the major players. We use them for home and auto. We've had a couple of claims and they have been super easy to deal with. They paid quickly and the adjuster lit a fire under the roofing contractor, when they pulled the damaged shingles off our house and then disappeared (WFT). We totaled a car and we had the check in our hand 5 days after the accident.
