Did you ever figure this out? Still can't figure out how to change the volume of siri. The volume is to high for my ears! I've searched all over the web with no luck.

while siri is talking, try hitting the volume down button.

On the Android Auto side, it appears phone volume settings are irrelevant. It is as if the head unit directly accesses the file to play, so all volume control comes from the truck.

Different from a Bluetooth connection, where your truck is basically acting as an external Bluetooth speaker, so the phone volume does matter in that case.

Easiest way I can explain it.

My wife's 4Runner was really loud using Apple Maps in CarPlay and I think you go to settings and then General and then CarPlay to change the volume. It won't bring up those settings since I'm not connected at the moment, but I think that's it. You only get like a normal, high, and low volume option. I set hers to low and it helped. We only used Siri once or twice since then, but it seemed to help that too. If that's not it, I'll check when I get back in the truck this evening.

try telling her to "speak the hell up". "Stop mumbling". I remember when Siri had attitude and a sense of humor. Now she's dry as gypsum toast. That said, I have no problems hearing her.

Sadly that doesn't work, you would think it would work like that.

That's how it works in my MB GLS and wife's BMW X3. I have an aftermarket head unit in the Taco and there's a separate volume control for the siri/guidance volume.

I don't really get what your point is here. Wasn't asking how your other cars operate. Specifically asking about the Tacoma.

It’s in the settings menu. Something to do with “Voice” I believe. I had to change it on mine. One sec and I’ll check

Menu - Settings - Voice - Voice Volume

Makes no sense, but that’s the setting for it. Toyota engineers are not that adept to creating things user friendly.

Holy crap it took forever to find this answer. Hey Google - this is the answer to getting Siri to shut the hell up.
