There is a free version of Sketchup from Trimble which is limited, but might help you portray an idea. You’d be able to share skp or pdf files, but Revit and AutoCAD will let you share dwg and dxf files which is what most pro’s use. There’s a pretty steep learning curve to design and modeling software, depends on the level of detail that you want to get to… and money/time

Hey @Hunterdc1 , are you ok if for now on, I cross post your work pics in the Space thread? Thanks for considering.

    Good morning everyone :hattip:

-14 below here, got two storms to shovel out of a spare driveway. Maybe worth firing up the Honda.

    Good morning shop crew :hattip:

It’s looking like another 80* day, I think it’s time to put up the fuzzy crocs for the year, or I can send then to one of you up in the frozen stuff. Who wears a size 9?

Thanks for going by, really glad to hear Shane is ok. But did you look at him close to make sure it REALLY was Shane, cause you know, it could still be…

Send them north, 4” of snow yesterday and I’ll see a high in the low 50’s today. Although it looks like we’ll be blessed with a little more precipitation tomorrow and into next week.

It is all what your body is used to temperature wise . Coldblooded is wrong cold blooded means your body really wants to go dormant like most all Lizards below like 50F

Nothing like going from hot and sunny to cold and below zero.

I would get told I had to wear insulated coveralls in the -10 Freezer all I needed was one layer even just that if I worked to hard I would sweat. They would all remark your steaming again.

The downside I tend to hibernate pretty much above 70 degrees.

I thought I would start to mind the cold more as I aged not yet though.

In the fall, 40 feels like it's freezing but in the spring, shorts and t-shirt at 30 (almost).

The older I get, the less I want to live where it's regularly -20 or colder.

Give me some squares on a piece of paper with room labels and rough dimensions and I'll see how much damage I can do.

Thanks! U read my mind. These should be easy but im struggling with stairs and bath/laundry in the main cabin. The host cabin will be basic and i may not even plumb it...electricity only, not real sure yet...depends on if i can hit water where i want the cabin. It just started dumping snow again so im not sure when ill get to the drawings. Hopefully this afternoon. Thanks again!

Two down today, but I only got a picture of the one. We got off to a late start, didn't find this pair until mid day, but managed to get them both after a bit of tracking. Saw one other late in the afternoon. After taking waaay too long to get it out of the block of timber it went into (it kept circling), one of the guys hit it, but we couldn't track it down in time, it got into some really thick cedars and we had to pull the plug. Strangely, we ended up seeing it two more times way off in the concession while we were leaving the area. IMG_20230225_214009.jpg

oh don't worry, he doesn't work!

all the crew leaders are in agreement he's not going to make it to the new year. not sure the company owner knows/understands just yet.

to be fair, we're mostly working in a new construction house. with no insulation and open exterior, it literally sucks the warmth right out. it could be 40 outside and it'll be 30 in the house.

in talking to him, he was saying that his parents keep the house at 72-74 all winter, and then he runs a space heater in his room to 'stay warm'. so he's essentially living in 80 degree's all the time at home-- so his body isn't used to running warmer to make up the difference...

i just know what working in -10 is, so i know better than to complain when it's 32 out!

I seem to mind more when the temperature is between 30 to 35 it is just the dampness that gets me.

I would die at those high temperatures.

I just have heat in the winter to keep the water from freezing and creating indoor water falls and ponds.

We move up here about 20 years ago.

-30s for days on end were not unusual for the first few winters. Now we might get to the -20s here and there but that’s not typical. Some winters it doesn’t even get that cold.

I think sometimes I’d rather not deal w snow but lately, we’ve gone winters without snow. I hear you though on the cold but then I’d feel out of place..
