3rd Gen Fuel Filler Neck - Repair?

    Have any of you replaced this plastic piece on fuel filler neck? It's called Vapor Canister Filter. Mine was broken after accident, so I ordered the new piece, removed the old one- there were two O-rings. Tried to put the new piece but there's no way I can fit both O-rings anymore, it's just impossible, does not close. So I'm thinking to leave just one O-ring there... any ideas, experiences?
