Love it when we get another inch of snow right after the previous storm’s clean up.

    Good morning everyone :hattip:

I hope you have a pleasant Sunday.

    happy sunday!

and a dog's reminder that a safe place is a safe place, even if it's made of mufflers, saw horses, and is only temporary on cleanup days.

the reel-to-reel was sent to me from my uncles parents estate. not exactly sure what i'm doing with it. it's really almost a bit too obscure for me. i just didn't want to see it get tossed. if someone knew more about them, and/or had other related hardware, i'd be willing see it off to a good home for whatever shipping costs

My dad had one but never had any music to use with it. One day on a bike ride I happen to ride by a local radio station and there was a reel on the ground by their dumpster. I brought it home and fired it up.

It was a commercial they had recorded.

Someone will. I’m fortunate enough to have my old school Pioneer components. Back in the day of quality power and vu-meters. I even have my 8-track! Also fortunate to still have my infinity IIa monitors. Hit me up if it can’t find a home.
LMAO! So true! I majored in Mass Communication Radio and Television management and technology. We recorded TONS of promos on small spools (hand size). We would move them to carts (looped cassette, like 8track) for commercials. Somewhere I have my demo spool with show breaks, promos, and compliance announcements for prospective employers. Crazy business…

i'm not actively trying to do anything with it, but if you're interested, it's probably better off anywhere but with me. my interest is in 50-90's stereo's and oddball speakers. it's got a reel installed, no idea what's even on it. i'm sure it's worth some money to someone, but i'd rather give it away to someone who appreciates it, than turn a profit. any old gear like this is more valuable for a nostalgia viewpoint than for any technological reasons.

but fair warning, the beast is heavy. gotta be close to 40 pounds...

    Good morning gents,

I’m sure he’ll be back at some point, other things are probably taking priority currently. I know my participation has ebbed and flowed over the past 7 1/2 since I joined the forum. At one point I was really active in the weekly photo challenge thread and on TW for a significant chunk of time daily. As things in my life have arisen and changed I’ve been known to take long sabbaticals 6 to 12 months or more. My activity picked up in November after I got my turd gen and I’m in a participation phase again.

If it relaxes everyone, I can pretend to make miniature farm implements from zip-ties and pipe cleaners… it won’t be anywhere near as precision as @six5crèéd , but it might be entertaining…

Sounds like @Fargo Taco is interested. While I appreciate a lot of the higher end stuff from my time, I remember the coming transistor takeover. I briefly worked for an audio/camera store and sold everything from Onkyo to Bose. I slowly purchased my system from upgraders going “sleek”. None of it is “expensive” but delivers on every penny. The speakers are “different” and don’t need a power plant investment to drive them, or chunks of room real estate. Yup, it’s in the old wood/glass component cabinet.

We moved to our home about 20 years ago. Then, I told the Mrs. we should pack up like we’re moving every year to weed out stuff we don’t need.

We didn’t. 20 years later, we have 20 years of stuff we don’t need

    Good Morning everyone :hattip:

I hope you have a terrific start to the week

Been in my house 5 years and I feel like I've got 20 years full of stuff I don't need. Neighbors were talking about a neighborhood garage sale coming up we need to thin it out.
