Not sure how I missed it, but where in OR are you? Been traveling between Bend and Reno and am curious. Based on the pic, I'd guess on the wetside (i.e Medford, GP area)?

Currently in Corvallis Oregon for school but I grew up in the Medford area and have spent most of my life there. Not a fan of Northern Oregon or the Willamette Valley, can't wait to get down south again.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/394438542069?

30 bucks for the support on eBay isn't great, but it's not terrible either. I just had to replace mine recently, because a PO had broke it, and I never noticed. The latch definitely needs this support to release properly. I had to fiddle with it so much before I replaced mine. Works like a champ now.

For that blowout, I would cut a small square of sheet metal and weld a nut on the back of it. Or you could use a riv-nut for the threads. And then weld it in place, grind it smooth, and paint.

I bought it used off of someone. I have no idea who built it but I assume it’s a one-off custom bumper.

Do these still exist? I looked for them a while ago, but had trouble. It'd be cool to find a chrome version too.

Yeah, nobody has ever made a true low profile first gen bumper. They all pretty much seem to stick way out on at least the corners.

Yeah it's unfortunate. This one has always stood out to me as being really low profile for a winch bumper: https://truenorthfabrications.com/c...s/96-04-tacoma-open-wing-hybrid-bumper-welded. Might be swapping out my bumper with this one eventually so that I can have a winch.

Did the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, idler roller, tensioner roller, hydraulic tensioner, cam shaft seals, crank shaft seals, new crankshaft bolt, and all new accessory belts. Used the aircabinman kit available on ebay. I bought the kit about 3 years ago and its gone up about $50 since then. The hardest part was getting the crankshaft bolt free and getting the new belt on. @Timmah! was right about the belt being near impossible to get on. I guess I'll add my data to the jiggle valve discussion. Mine was in the 12 o'clock position when I got to it and temps were running up to 203F. I put the new one in with the jiggle valve at 6 o'clock and the temp now doesn't go over 190.3F on my Ultragauge. On a positive note, I didn't strip or break anything, and no parts were left over when I was done.

Found both oem from the stealership for 84$
54 for the latch and 30 for the support.
However I won't be able to install the support since my bumper overlaps the bottom mount section. :'(
If I can't use the center support, I'm not sure if I want to reuse the factory latch tincan location.

I've got some aerocatch showing up today so I will see if it's even viable. The top section appears to ride on a curve so I'm not sure the 5degree allowance for thr pins will be even plausible.
