Added a Tundra last Feb. after a growing kiddo could no longer ride comfortably in the Tacoma double cab. I still daily drive the Tacoma, closing in on 130k miles with no intention to ever get rid of it.

Technically I'm still on my first but when I met my girlfriend (now wife) in 2002 she had a 96. I watched her make out like a bandit in April 2008 with the frame buyback and said "if I ever consider buying another brand instead of GM, they've shown me a good reason to go Toyota". My 2006 Colorado puked the engine in 2012 and despite being under 2 warranties got months of runaround and finally shafted on the job. Traded it for my 2010 Tacoma.

Snarl. Sounds like the asshole who rearended my wife Christmas week because he was too busy finger fucking his phone. Driving his buddy's car so at least there's some insurance on the vehicle but she's been out of work for 8 weeks so far.

In a similar vein I had a 2020 Chevy Malibu for 4 weeks and then a 2019 Nissan Frontier DCSB for 8 weeks whilst my 2010 was getting the frame done. Like yourself, I'm thrilled with the truck and at only 130K I'm hoping for 10 more years at least.

I looked for over 2 years for what I had.... I originally wanted a 12-15 Access cab 6 speed, but settled on my 2008 AC 6 speed, it was already lifted, with 33's, aftermarket wheels and a canopy.
I've owned it 5 years, from 108k to now 160k miles. I'll see what happens around 200k miles, but I'm really not impressed with the new 3rd gen tacomas. The only upgrade in mind I have right now is a 2015 AC 6 speed.
OR, If I can save up enough money, I'd like a newer 4runner and a fun play car to keep the manual around.

Sold my 2004 double cab about a year ago to get a '13. I wanted something from a rust free state, so my '13 from Arizona fit the bill. I was specifically after a 12-15 extended cab but "settled" for a double cab. The mileage on each was close to the same so after selling my '04 I forked out about 9k to upgrade. I've been happy with the '13 thus far and like the power of the 4.0 over the 3.4 I told myself I would leave it stock, but I'm already planning some suspension upgrades. I do kinda miss my 04 seeing as it was really well sorted out with a lift, topper, ARB bumper, etc. My '13 feels pretty bland and appliance like in comparison. I'm hoping to change that little by little.

    More than I can afford
My current one was because the previous one had 260k on it, the clear was starting to go on the hood/roof and I had just gotten some major engine work done.

And I wanted more cab space (1st gen standard cab to 2nd gen access cab). It was also supposed to be a 4cyl/auto truck (basic white work truck), but I wound up impulse buying an X-Runner instead. Oops.... Not many regrets though.

My 1999 Ranger with 280K miles needed a new rack and pinion and drivers door lock cylinder.
And after 19 years it was just worn out.

    IMG_1151.jpg

Replaced it with my first Tacoma, a 2015.
    Which ended up like this.

    IMG_0862.jpg

After insurance company totaled the 2015 got this 2013, which I'm still driving.

Slid off the highway at 60 MPH on black ice in my 1st Gen Tundra with 437K Miles on the original engine, and almost bought a used newer Tundra, but didn't want that larger body truck, so I started looking into the Tacoma's and found all the good upgrades and mods were available for them, so I bought a slightly used Tacoma.

Any 05-07 guys feeling “scared” and selling/trading it in because of possible HG in the future?

Bought my first toyota truck in 1992. After years of my parents buying caddys and chevys, I wanted to buck the trend and try something opposite of them. Kept my truck and bought my wife a 2001 4Runner SE. She did sales in Virginia, so I wanted something safe and reliable. I gave my truck to my sister in 2008 and bought a new FJ Cruiser and modded the heck out of it. Then the 4 runner was given to my brother and wife got a 2005 camry. In 2019 my FJ was rear ended by a semi truck on the highway and they weren't making those again, so I went back to a tacoma pick up...and the new Army Green was out for 2020, so why not get what I want! I had planned on keeping my FJ forever as I will my Army green. No more mods to be had for my taco, so just wait until a new drivetrain comes out that has good power and mileage....which means it'll be a while. In the meantime, just bought the wife a new highlander and all is paid off. Seriously though for a second vehicle.....I'm saving up for that new Corvette....sweeeeet.

Had a 2000 tacoma, super clean and wish i never sold it...but got the 2021 in august 2021 and sold that a month later, didn't need 2 truck living in a condo. The daily was a leased Accord 2.0 Manual which i also wish i kept, but was able to sell back to the dealer for a 3k profit which went into the new tacoma fund.

Dang, you know you're leaking coolant??! Glad you came out alright..

First wanted one back in college in '78. Regular cab 4x4 was perfect. Had to wait until I got my '95 T100 because it had space in the cab for a couple of kids. Good truck. Replaced in '09 with an '05 Tundra Access Cab. Was actually looking for a Tacoma but the dealer (personal friend) offered me his barely used personal at a price I couldn't say no to. Great truck. No regrets. Sounds awesome with the Magnaflow exhaust. '19 rolled around and my son was looking for a truck and I decided to pass the Tundra down to him and started looking for a Tacoma (again). Wanted an extended cab because I felt (still do) the visual proportions are perfect, at the risk of a little cab space. Ended up stumbling across a '14 DCLB Limited with virtually no miles (18K) and genuinely owned by an elderly gentleman (verified), not a mark anywhere. This truck was brand new. I'll be keeping this one.

When my 05 off road hit 325,000 miles in 2020 and the pandemic halted vehicle production I thought I had better replace it now because the supply chain was drying up. Managed to get a 2020 off-road 4x4 just before the inventory dried up. Drove it for awhile and decided it just wasn’t my cup of tea so I rebuilt the front suspension on my 05 and it’s still my primary ride. It’s unstoppable at near 400,000 miles
