Can I make my taco faster?

Hey guys! I have a 2005 Tacoma 5-lug 4cyl with a 3" lift and 30's. I want to know if there's a way to make it a little faster, I want to make it go as fast as a stock v6 or v8 for not too expensive. Is this possible?

 

anything is possible with enough money...

remove lift and tires it will be a bit faster feeling.

An ECU tune? I'm not sure what's available for your engine. A tune on a stock engine won't get you much. Maybe 1-2 HP, better throttle response and better shift points (for automatic). A decent tune might get your truck feeling like it did before the bigger tires, but it'll be far from feeling like the V6.

Sell it. Get a V6.

Then spend another 8-9 grand or so adding a supercharger to the V6.

After all that it'll be about as fast as a late 1980's Saab turbo sedan. I.e. not all that fast.

 

Won’t happen unfortunately unless you have deep pockets.

 

Quicker or faster?
There is a BIG difference.

 

Tow it with a big, fast truck. You'll get great gas mileage.
