    I need it.

    I love this series.

I still have yet to try this one. Gave up on rare beers and now hunt rare bourbon. I'm dumb.

Bourbon mostly isn’t rare, just pricey. I can get plenty of “hard to get”… the question would be, can you afford it. That’s usually not the case with beers. Some are just hard to get, but reasonable if you can find it. Also, truly “rare” beers are typically tap room only. By the time it hits bottles, it’s typically had a few generations. Depending on what you are after, you can often find someone who will trade based on their availability. You just have to have something to trade with. Evaluate your own local access and trade accordingly. I, like many of those here will consider porch bomb trades.

Well same, but fuck paying over MSRP for anything. Also kinda what I feel about beer is how expensive some of the harder to get or limited release beers can be in the store just like bourbon. After finding myself paying $30+ for a 4 pack of Founders KBS variants when I can spend the same amount on an equally good bottle of bourbon.

Not to mention I have gotten to the point where I have favorites of beer, and rather stick to stuff I know I'll like with a cigar, daily etc vs trying new shit all the time. Now if I am on vacation I'll try some local flavors or if we want to try a new brewery then why not, but I'm not going out of my way to get shit anymore.

I’ve never gone out of my way for things, but if I’m in the store already… picked up some carnival brews (hey, was there already). I attend a few festivals and have made friends with some of the reps, etc. I miss some, but also hit on others. Met a rep yesterday… got a sixer of old (stout) and new (IPA).
I get it though, to each his own.

Went to a local bar today after a long work week. Had a couple of decent stouts and porters on.

Ok, for those who know me, you may want to record this…
This is an awesome IPA. I was blown away with how mellow it was when I was introduced to it.
