These steps came off a 2023 Tacoma DCSB. They bolted right up to my 2023 DCSB but interfered with mud guards. I had to either cut off the front of it or modify the mud guard..... I chose to modify the easiest part to replace.

You can see here how far it comes forward and would interfere with OEM mud guards. (You can see the line where the mud guards was.)

Here's the hole I cut for clearance. I don't want to run without the mudguards. The end result came out ok but still seem odd that I had to do this to get these parts to work together.

Those are aftermarket steps, so anything goes

That's odd because they were offered as an option right off the Toyota website when I ordered my truck 7 months ago. If you go to the Toyota website, you can select them as an option right now. Apparently I assumed that because of this, they were OEM.

Also, this guy has said that these came on his 2023 as did the guy that sold me these running boards.

When I ordered my Weathertechs, they made a notation that the running boards had to be at least 1" from the fender well for them to fit. My OEM running boards did stop 1" prior to the fender well. No issues. I believe I have the same running boards.

I don't know man, something doesn't add up here. If both are oem products, I can't imagine you would have to cut big ass holes in the mud guards to install them together. But maybe so?

Is is possible the running boards can be flipped around? Maybe they look symmetrical, but the rear part of the running boards are roughly 1" longer?

I just measured mine and they are 84 inches long. They stop about 2 inches from the ftont fender well. Maybe they put the driver's side on the passenger's side and visa versa.

    A few.
Ive never seen those boards before. Might only be available in certain areas of the country. It might be an either/or situation where you have to pick one or the other.

Imo you dont need both front mudflaps and running boards. My 2019 had the factory flaps since new and they only stop road debrees back to the door mirrors. If u look under my rockers u will see alot of sand blasting chips from the mirrors back

This is what they offer for oem in Canada and they fit great. I believe they were the same ones offered on the 2nd Gen. The ones you have are not an option up here.

This could be the issue. I bought my truck from Georgia which is SET. I thought they were OEM.

OP here. Mine are also 84" long. They will only bolt on one way and cannot be turned around. I'm now under the assumption that they are not OEM but are offered as an option on new trucks from Toyota. It's still a mystery because @Taco23Trl has the same ones along with the same OEM running boards.

    What is "SET"?

I actually found a deal on FB and purchased a like new set of those first. I like the look and how high they tuck up to the truck but they didn't work that great for me as a step because they were so high.

Southeast Toyota Mafia....errrr...Distributors. Buy a Toyota in their territory and count on at least $1,500 in overpriced BS add-ons you can't get rid of. Also, can't use Toyota Financial Services or buy a Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement. (I did manage to buy an actual Toyota VSA from an out of state dealer by paying for it cash).

They are terrible for normal height adults, Great for my kids though. Also keep road debris off my paint.

SET is Southeast Toyota as staed above. I have an SR5 but I do not believe that makes any difference.

I just made another measurment. From the end of the running board closest to the front tire to the first mounting bolt is 8 and 1/2 inches.
