Maybe things are getting better for Tacoma buyers?

"Mario noted that his data even shows the Toyota Tacoma TRD becoming negotiable in recent months, with some buyers he’s helped driving one home for between $1,500 and $2,000 below MSRP."

This is from a pretty reliable source: The Most and Least Negotiable New Cars in 2023 - CarEdge

Do the math! Higher supply + lower demand (due to higher loan interest rates) = more trucks on the lot = higher bargaining power.

Not sure of their reputation, never heard of them.

I paid under $35k for mine a couple months ago and the store I bought from now has nothing cheaper than $40k. They had a few priced less than that in January, no SRs or SR5s now. I guess it depends where you are and how much the 2024s will list out at when they come out.

It's still too early to say what the market trend is since it will probably be different in different regions.

my "used car qoute" has dropped $5k in the last couple months so i guess its safe to say it is softening up but i dont think we'll ever see prices back to "normal" like pre-covid lab leak times.

Interest rates are working in favor creating less demand which is making dealers more aggressive in their pricing. But not overall helpful if you want a new truck and need to finance a large portion of it.

They can wait and probably pay $2k more for the '24 and then deal with all the growing pains (read: recalls) of a completely new model.

    100%

For people that need to finance a majority of the truck, right now is almost worse now than it was before. You may get 1-2k off msrp but you pay 5 times that amount in interest when you factor in these higher interest rates. It's crazy to think people really pay $700+ per month for a tacoma.

The 5 dealers around me in Virginia can’t keep a Tacoma on the lot. Needless to say they are still charging extra for the bs “market value adjustment”

Exactly. I'll believe it when I see it, which based on the dearth of available MT Access Cabs will be a long time.

    Nothing major yet.
The market for basically everything that would require a loan is softening.

A retired car salesman/mgr and his son have a website to "help" people level the playing field.
Catch is they charge to be a member and charge about $1000 to "help" buy your next car.

It was a pretty cool youtube channel in the beginning. Now they are trying to monetize everything.

Got mine in October also. Rate was 3.19 from Toyota. No brainer when my credit union wanted…9.89 percent. A credit union that is only government employees. I do have to say thank you to Toyota for that.

Toyota hasn't said anything about a 2024 Tacoma. The 4runner will be Updated before the Tacoma. The 4runner has been out for over 10 years and the Tacoma is about 8 years old. Just my opinion

I was livid that I had to pay 1.9%. Bought the wife's new Subaru a few years ago at 0% ...
And I'm still livid that my payment is just under $350 -
Hope to pay it off this year ( 2021 SR5 ).

If you can get a few thousand off MSRP due to less demand at a higher interest rate I say buy it now.
You can always Refinance when rates drop, and they will drop, as sure as the sun rises and sets so shall interest rates.
What goes up must come down ( eventually )...

Tacoma has been around since 1995 or so.... that's a hair more than 8 years.
