*** SEE POST 16 FOR SOLUTION***

I am having a more and more consistent issue with the brakes in my 2003 Tacoma.
Occasionally, I will lose a little bit of pressure in the pedal, followed by a gurgling sound near the brake booster, followed by some kind of mechanical whine (to maybe rebuild pressure) on the passenger side – area. I have searched and read all kinds of stuff, but nothing really lines up with what I'm dealing with.

The one vacuum line I see going into the booster is in good condition.

The problem only happens at Low speeds, most of the time when coming to a stop sign or rolling forward at a light.

any help you can offer is very much appreciated. Don’t hesitate to throw ideas at me. I have been fighting this for a while.

Is the master cylinder brake fluid level dropping?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    ABS yes or no??

Internal leak in the Master cylinder ??

Using the parking brake to keep the rear brake shoes adjusted up??

You might just notice more pedal travel at lower speeds.

I'd pull master cylinder back and check for any wetness on it. Unhooking lines shouldn't be required. Just unbolt it and pull it back.

Yes it has ABS. Rear shoes should be adjusted fine, the parking brake works.

Ill check the master cylinder and update.

    Thanks!

There's a seal and a gasket between booster and master cylinder. Don't think the seal is available with buying a rebuilt brake booster.

If your booster is leaking, check out bush power brake in national city. He just did mine. He sends a new seal for the master shaft/booster seal.

I FIGURED IT OUT! Praise God.

front passenger abs sensor was loose. Bolt head had snapped off. Extracted old bolt, tightened a new one in and haven't had issue in 2 days and it was normal to happen 3-4x every trip.
    Thanks for the help!

Awesome. Glad you figured it out and thank you for reporting back with the solution.

If you don’t mind can you edit the first post and say, “see post 16 for solution”

Helps out a lot when people are searching the same symptoms and come across your thread.
