Kirkwood is the best!!! I used to get a pass there every year until I hung the board up.

Hopefully rose hires me as a snowmaker next year so I get a free pass. But too expensive for what it has to offer. And it’s really not much closer or easier to get to than North Star

From my house to sitting on the chairlift was about 45 minutes this morning.

Northstar is a fun mountain (even beyond the park) but after 4 seasons working there I really grew to hate the lines and I won't even get into how far you have to park from the lifts.

That would be pretty sweet. I know a lot of the people that work there and they enjoy it.

If I leave early enough I can make garage to parking lot in 15 (speed not advertised). Been going there for about 20 years now and it's still my favorite place.

@CrippledHo, I was hoping for some fresh turns in the chutes but they were still blasting around noon and pushing snow around chuter when I had to leave today.

On fresh pow days like today, they'll be blasting most of the day, especially depending on the wind conditions leading into it and the base. Sometimes they open early if the snow accumulation wasn't big, but I'm pretty sure we got a lot up there.

A lot of moisture in that last storm so the snow felt heavy. They did end up opening them this afternoon...right about the time I was picking my kids up from school. In a few more years I can stay out and they can walk themselves home and enjoy an afternoon without parental supervision.

We're just living our best lives in your shadow over here. It's nice to be at the ski resorts while our Tahoe friends are still digging out.

In solidarity with my Tahoe brothers and sisters I shoveled the 1 inch of snow off my driveway Wednesday morning even though I could have left it and it would have melted by lunch.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
I don't ski - the most I do is snowshoe (so basically hike in even tougher conditions, because I'm an idiot). Why is it called "Mt Rose" when from what I can tell the slopes are on Slide Mtn? Have had those two peaks ass-backwards the last 4 years, or am I stupid (see above re: snowshoes). :D

Are you referring to the ski "resort" name?

Yeah, Rose is on Slide. The actual Mt. Rose is the big peak to the north, northwest.
