Hello everyone. Thought I’d sign up as I’m actively looking for a 2023 Tacoma. Specifically a bearded SR AC 2.7 in MGM but this is proving harder than I anticipated. I may have to settle for a white one. These base models seem hard to come by in my neck of the woods. Looking forward to learning and contributing to the forum.

Welcome! This time last year I had to take what I could get in an OR. Lunar Rock and Army Green were my first color choices, but I ended up with MGM because it's what was available. My advice would be to not settle on color, you'll wish you had gotten exactly what you wanted every time you get in your truck haha.

Well I decided I didn’t want to wait on a 2023 in MGM and pulled the trigger on a 2022 SRAC 2.7 Ice Cap. She’s only got 1840 miles on her.9136D56E-1B6C-42E6-8CBD-227E2E52C912.jpg

Absolutely. It’s so nice to be back in a truck after a decade of driving a car. I’ve owned two Toyota trucks in the past. A 1989 and 1993, and put over 250k miles on both.

With the 2.7, you’ll easily do that again. I thought ice cap was the same as white but apparently it’s not and has a Pearl tinge. I haven’t seen one up close to tell the difference. How does it look? And is it 2wd? Great ride though. There’s something about simple trucks that’s nice, especially, as more tech gets added.

I think it’s beautiful though I am biased. Yes, 2WD. Have no need for 4WD and it’s extra weight. Even as a bone stock SR it has more tech than I need. I do value simplicity. The only thing I’m even thinking of doing to it is to ditch the steel wheels for alloys to keep the weight down but not sure it’s even worth it. And the only thing keeping this truck from being perfect is the lack of a manual transmission.

Though I have to admit… all those TRD models are mighty pretty and that Army Green especially so.

If 041 is the paint code it's the same as blizzard pearl.

040 super white is the base color with 041 over it for the pearl. Actually a 3 stage paint job.

Pretty sure just the names have changed.

'Worth' is relative. And looks are part of worth, not just weight. Since any OE Tacoma wheel will work,, decide what you like and shop for take offs.

They should be inexpensive because of being plentiful. Since all the 'cool kids' must haves include aftermarket wheels. Usually black.

Mine are steel, collected 'spares', because I wanted bit old school look, and 5 lugs have less options to pick over.

    Simple is good, I agree!

I ran black steelies on my 89 and 93 2WD trucks. With the 5x4.5 bolt pattern, the possibilities were endless.
