Got my first car in 2019, my grandma's 2015 VW Tiguan... what a shit car. I had absolutely no clue just how unreliable and problematic of a car VW makes. Spent the last 4 years with it, visiting the mechanic every other month for a nice $250-500 bill. It got so bad that the headliner was completely sagging, the sunroof shade was completely f**ked, and the water started leaking from the sunroof into the carpets (for the second time).

But I finally got rid of it! It was a three day journey. I had been looking at at least 10 different Tacomas on Facebook Marketplace and found this '98 Purple Tacoma. Went to check it with my mechanic on Monday, he told me to get it ASAP. That it was in great condition and wasn't gonna last on marketplace. Tuesday I got my money together, decided to go to CarMax and sell that VW Tiguan and they offered me the exact same amount for the VW as the Tacoma. Picked her up that same day and finalized the transfer of title the day after.

I honestly could care less about cars and don't consider myself a car guy but I blame that on not having a sick ass Tacoma. Now that I have a car I actually like, I am obsessed with keeping her clean and maintained. Of course, she needs work. Suspension, PS air control valve, transmission fluid line, oil pan gasket needs to be replaced and I'd like to put in a trans cooler. I also have to fix the A/C which has a leak. Lots to do but I'm happy to know that if I fix it, it will actually stay fixed and not constantly have issues like the VW.

So grateful to be able to write in this site as a new owner of a first gen. Tacoma. Enjoy these pictures, all I have done so far is give it a full exterior detailing.
